Barcelona has disclosed that Lamine Yamal, the Spanish player, sustained a hamstring injury, although he is anticipated to recover in time for the forthcoming World Cup, according to an announcement made by the club on Thursday.
The diagnosis, as confirmed by tests, revealed that Lamine Yamal has incurred a hamstring injury in his left leg, prompting the club to declare that he will undergo conservative treatment, as stated by Barca.
Lamine Yamal will not participate in the remainder of the season, but is expected to be available for the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19 this year.
Spain's World Cup campaign will commence on June 15 with a match against Cape Verde in Group H, followed by encounters with Saudi Arabia on June 21 and Uruguay six days later.
The injury occurred during Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo in a La Liga match on Wednesday, where Yamal scored the winning goal by converting a penalty.
Yamal, who has scored six goals in 25 appearances for the Spanish national team since his debut in 2023, clinched the narrow win for Barcelona but immediately pulled up hurt after scoring.
Following the goal, Yamal called for treatment and lay on the turf as his teammates celebrated, before being replaced by Roony Bardghji.
The outcome of the match saw Barcelona extend their lead to nine points over Real Madrid at the top of the table, with six matches remaining, including a Clasico scheduled for May 10.
