Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has urged Nigerians to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing his "bold, daring and ambitious vision" for the country's development as a key reason for continued support.

This call to action was made on Thursday during the opening of a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where Governor Fubara praised President Tinubu as a "dedicated and highly patriotic" leader.

According to Governor Fubara, President Tinubu's leadership has been marked by notable achievements over the past three years, and he expressed confidence that more progress would be made under the Renewed Hope Agenda if the president is re-elected in 2027.

The governor highlighted the transformation of the economy and the ongoing infrastructural revolution, including the coastal road project in the southern regions, as evidence of the president's effective leadership.

Despite existing challenges, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of trusting in President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and its potential to deliver equitable development to all regions, stressing that Nigerians should support him in the 2027 election to ensure continued progress.

Using a football analogy, Governor Fubara noted that "no coach changes a winning team," implying that President Tinubu's administration has been successful and should be allowed to continue its work.

Governor Fubara welcomed the traditional rulers to the meeting, seeing their presence in Port Harcourt as a testament to the peace and unity of the people of Southern Nigeria, as well as the state's ability to host high-profile events.

The governor acknowledged the diversity of the southern region but emphasized the shared commitment to a unified Nigeria, highlighting the importance of building a collective future and promoting regional interests through collaboration with the federal government.

Governor Fubara recognized the strategic role of traditional rulers in Nigeria, serving as a bridge between the people and the government, and wielding significant influence beyond their ceremonial duties.

He commended the traditional rulers for their dedication to the peace and progress of southern Nigeria and urged them to remain focused on their cultural, economic, and political goals for the region.

Governor Fubara charged the traditional rulers to engage in productive discussions that would foster peace, security, and progress in Southern Nigeria and the country as a whole.

The meeting, attended by traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West zones, aimed to discuss the roles of traditional institutions in promoting unity, peace, cohesion, and development across Southern Nigeria.

Notable attendees included the Chairman of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Co-Chairman, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, among other prominent royal fathers.
