Governor Chukwuma Soludo has given his seal of approval for the appointment of key officials to lead major health sector parastatals in the state, marking a significant development in the state's healthcare landscape.

Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme, Dr. Obianuji Chinelo Okoye, and Dr. Hillary Nkem Okeke have been appointed to head the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency, respectively, as part of the new appointments.

With over 22 years of experience in Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Uwaeme brings a wealth of clinical and management expertise to his new role as Executive Secretary of ASHIA, having trained at esteemed institutions such as Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Ilorin.

Dr. Uwaeme's educational background also includes training at the Jefferson Ultrasound Radiology and Education Institute in India and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, further solidifying his credentials as a seasoned medical practitioner.

Dr. Okoye, the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, boasts an impressive track record as an experienced physician with strong administrative and training competencies, as well as broad clinical experience across hospitals and the public health sector.

Her extensive experience spans over 20 years of integrated practice, and she holds an MBBS degree from Ebonyi State University, alongside a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Diploma in Family Medicine from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

Dr. Okoye has also participated in several conferences where she presented papers, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of medicine.

Dr. Okeke, the third appointee, is a multi-skilled medical expert and lecturer known for his research capabilities, with areas of interest including epidemiology, global health management, and community and social care.

He holds an MBBS degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a Master’s degree in Public Health, and is a member of several professional bodies, underscoring his expertise and credentials in the field of medicine.

The appointments of Dr. Uwaeme, Dr. Okoye, and Dr. Okeke are part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve institutional capacity across Anambra’s health sector, marking a significant step forward in the state's healthcare development.
