Today is International Women’s’ Day, for us as Christians, it gives us an opportunity to examine our roles as women in the home, in the church and the society at large.
Let’s look at why the Lord created woman in the first place.
Genesis 2 vs. 18 ( KJV) provides the answer.
It states: “ And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone: I will make him an help meet for him”.
The Holy Bible also tells us how God created Woman.
Genesis 2 vs. 21 to 23: “ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man”.
God made the woman to be a companion for the man.
The Lord God said in verse 24: “ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”.
It means therefore that if a lady or a man is of marriageable age and remains unmarried not by choice, she or he only needs to wait on the Lord in prayer.
A prayer point for a lady in this situation could be “ Lord, you made me to be a help meet to somebody, let there be Divine connection with that person in Jesus name.
After marriage, God want’s the woman to have children.
In other words align with the man to produce children.
Psalm 128 vs. 3 attests to this. “ Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table”.
Brethren, God desires this for us but human beings acting in cooperation with the forces of darkness may not allow the word of God to come to pass in good time. This explains delay in childbearing, delay in getting married or even delays in getting promoted.
Anyone that finds himself or herself in this condition needs spiritual help.
This is because; human beings using physical strength are not in a position to overcome spiritual forces that are usually unseen.
Hannah knew that she wasn’t only fighting the physical battle with Penninah that provoked her daily she knew that the closure of her womb by the Lord was something she would have to engage in spiritual struggle to overcome.
She also knew that even after she has had Samuel, the enemy might be waiting to attack her and her baby.
While acknowledging the greatness of the LORD, she made a statement that remains relevant till today.
1st Samuel 2 vs. 9: “ He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail”.
Brethren, indeed, no man can prevail by physical strength. What you think you have achieved with strength has become possible because God gave you that strength in the first place.
Our Lord Jesus said in Matthew 18 vs. 18: “ Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”.
Brethren to march into joy, you have to be determined to loose yourself from the bondage of the enemy and this can only be done with prayer and fasting under a truly anointed man or woman of God.
As a woman, you have stages that God desires for you. From the toddler girl to the young girl, to a matured lady, then a wife and a mother to children that God gives you or are in your care.
We also have roles to play in the church of God.
In the ministry of Jesus women played crucial roles. They were the first to know that Jesus has risen.
Mark 16 vs. 1, 5 &6: “And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
And entering the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrightened.
And he saith unto them, Be not affrightened : Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him”.
Beloved, as a woman you are empowered by God spiritually . Women were the first to know that Christ had risen.
Whatever is the challenge that confronts you today, the word of God, “ Fear not remains relevant”.
You need to kick out fear to march to joy with the help of the Lord.
Stop thinking that a doctor can make you have children if God is not involved.
That marriage dream may not be realized unless God helps you.
Not surprising the Psalmist said, in Psalm 121 vs. 1&2 : “ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth”.
Beloved, you may be working hard but promotion continues to by pass you for reasons that you do not understand.
Wake up! The battle for the much-desired elevation you want in life is not only physical but also spiritual and you cannot win unless you march along with the Lord in prayer and fasting, if your health permits.
Stop worrying about what worries you. Pour out your heart unto the Lord and you will surely march from worries to joy.
We have an assurance in Isaiah 41 vs. 10: “ Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee: yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”.
Let Jesus uphold you and you will march over all troubles.
Jesus never fails.
Everything that you need to be called a complete woman, the Lord will give you soon in the name of Jesus.
I’ll share with you the testimony of a couple that waited on the Lord for 17 years.
They held on steadfastly to the Lord walking in his ways and keeping his commandments.
The Lord visited them and gave them a set of triplets, three boys.
God wiped out the tears of 17 years with joy unspeakable.
Jesus helped them to march into Joy. That help is still available for you and I.
To overcome any challenge, we must take steps to march with the Lord into victory and testify to the joy of the Lord.
The LORD’s help is available always.
May God shower us blessings today and always.
Happy Womens’ Day.
Jehovah reigns!
