The Federal Government has been called upon to establish clear objectives for national development as the country approaches another general election in 2027, according to a public analyst, Mrs. Uche Etiaba, who made this statement in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, over the weekend.
Etiaba, who was speaking at a book launch, emphasized the importance of the political class thinking creatively by setting achievable goals to enhance the nation's greatness and unparalleled development in Africa, stating that "Nations do not rise by chance but by goals".
She stressed that until the nation sets targets that can be achieved, Nigeria will continue to struggle in the global community, and urged for a paradigm shift among the political class to achieve greatness for the country, noting that "Clarity creates movement and those nations that developed did so through clear set goals and intentional drive".
Etiaba cited Singapore and Rwanda as examples of countries that have successfully aligned their systems with their vision and goals, and called on Nigeria's leadership to do the same, emphasizing the need to build systems that support national development objectives.
The public analyst praised the book, "Transforming Nations A-Z of Goal Setting: Discovering Winning Nuggets" by Ibeleogute Emmanuel, describing it as a masterpiece, and encouraged the nation's political leaders and the general public to apply its principles.
Book reviewer, Kore Oladimeji, commended the author for writing the 26-chapter book in simple prose that conveys valuable insights, allowing readers to capitalize on opportunities around them, and praised the book's layout for making it easy to follow every idea expressed.
