In today’s Nigerian newspapers review programme, Today in the News, Vanguard’s lead headline states that the resignation of four ministers from the Federal Executive Council (FEC), and about four heads of agencies in President Bola Tinubu’s administration to pursue their 2027 political ambitions, has altered permutations for the governorship and National Assembly races in many states.

Another headline states that at least 16 people were killed in separate violent incidents in Benue and Kaduna states during Easter celebrations, leaving communities in mourning and prompting urgent calls for stronger security measures.

Vanguard also reports that President Tinubu has approved the payment plan to finally settle the outstanding debts under the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme.

Moving to the next paper, The Guardian features stakeholders expressing concerns about some procedural gaps in the systems and preparations of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections.

Next paper, The Punch reports that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims of any agreement to make Nafiu Bala Gombe the vice chairman for the North East, insisting that no such arrangement exists within the party.

Lastly, The Nation reports that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has urged the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to declare Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s seat vacant, following his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
