Most adult entertainers are very responsible — Amara Maduka

Actress and adult entertainer Amara Maduka, has pushed back against criticism from Nigerians over her involvement in pornography, insisting that public opinion has no bearing on her life or career decisions.

Speaking in a recent interview with Potpourri, Maduka said she does not expect people to understand a path they are not personally walking, stressing that she equally does not relate to many of the choices made by her critics.

“I honestly don’t expect people to understand a path they’re not walking,” she said. “Someone who isn’t living the life I want to live is not someone I would take criticism from. So, no, what Nigerians have to say about my life choices has never and will never influence any decision I make.”

Addressing common misconceptions, the actress noted that adult entertainers are often unfairly judged as irresponsible or wayward, a perception she strongly disagrees with.

“People think it’s a wayward and irresponsible lifestyle, but in reality, most adult content creators are very responsible, intelligent and self-aware. It’s just work, and it doesn’t define a person’s character,” she explained.

Despite her current career in adult entertainment, Maduka reaffirmed her enduring passion for the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, describing it as her “first love.”

“Absolutely. Nollywood is my first love. I will return when I’m ready,” she said, adding that she intends to balance both acting and adult content creation moving forward.
