nUmmu District was carved out of Rafin Zuru District and comprises eight village areas: Paso, Sondoro, Denkre, Akwanchi, D’hava (Hato), Daklo, Ummu (Gari) and Bedi.
n“The creation of Ummu District is in line with the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, particularly Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B), which confer powers regarding the creation of districts and appointment of District Heads,” the statement said.
nHe said Gujiya was selected based on his record and ability to serve the people of the area.
n“His appointment was based on his track record and demonstrated capacity to serve his community,” he added.
nDutsinmari urged the new district head to discharge his responsibilities with discipline, honesty and transparency.
