Iwo Monarch Throws Weight Behind Engineer Ayodeji Bello of Accord Party for Federal Legislature Seat, Citing Inadequate Representation by Current Office Holder

IWO, OSUN STATE – In a significant political development, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu I), has formally endorsed Engr. Ayodeji Bello, the Accord party candidate for the Federal House of Representatives.

The endorsement took place yesterday at the Palace in Iwo, where the monarch received Engr. Bello and his campaign team. During the visit, the Oluwo expressed his enthusiastic support for Bello’s candidacy, citing a need for effective and visible representation for the constituency.

A Call for Active Representation

In a candid statement, Oba Akanbi revealed that the incumbent member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives has remained largely estranged from the traditional institution and the grassroots.

> “The incumbent House of Representatives member is not known to the Palace,” the Oluwo stated. “We need representatives who are accessible, who understand the yearnings of our people, and who maintain a strong connection with the traditional leadership to foster development.”

The monarch described Engr. Bello as a “son of the soil” with the professional competence and character required to bring the dividends of democracy back to Iwo, Ayedire, and Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency.

He noted that Bello’s vision aligns with the progress and traditional heritage of the kingdom.

Candidate’s Response

Responding to the royal blessing, Engr. Ayodeji Bello expressed his profound gratitude to the Oluwo, promising to run an inclusive office that prioritizes the welfare of the constituents.

Engr AYODEJI Vowed to maintain a permanent liaison with the Palace and local communities.

I shall remain Committed to using his engineering background to facilitate federal projects in the region.

Promised to sponsor bills that empower youth and revitalize the local economy.

The endorsement by the Oluwo is seen as a major boost for the Accord party in the upcoming elections, signaling a shift in the local political landscape toward candidates with stronger community ties.

Hon Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi, Hon Commissioner for Water resources harps on the importance of having Engr AYODEJI BELLO in the House of Representatives, simply to boost the good governance and bring more dividends of democracy to the good people of AYIWOLA.
