Interswitch drives adaptive financial tech at TechConnect 6.0

Integrated payments and digital commerce company, Interswitch, has announced the kick-off of the sixth edition of its TechConnect industry engagement series in Owerri, Imo State. The initiative aims to bring together key stakeholders across government, financial services, technology, and business sectors to explore the infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and capabilities needed to power a rapidly shifting digital economy.

Themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market,” the multi-city roadshow will examine how organisations can build scalable, connected, secure, and responsive systems as consumer expectations and business models evolve.

Following the Owerri engagement at the Protea Hotel, the TechConnect 6.0 series will tour three major commercial hubs in October, making stops in Abuja on October 8, Ibadan on October 22, and concluding in Lagos on October 27.

Speaking on the imperative of building future-ready systems, the Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth at Interswitch, Tyoyila Aga, emphasised that flexibility must sit at the centre of technological deployment.

He said, “Building for what’s next means designing infrastructure with change being top of mind. Markets, customer expectations and business needs will continue to evolve, so the systems that support them must be scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient enough to evolve with them. The opportunity is not simply to adopt new technology, but to build connected infrastructure that can support new services, new channels and new possibilities as they emerge.”

The flagship event in Owerri will feature a keynote address by the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, Justice Okoye, who will focus on the role of adaptive financial infrastructure in strengthening state institutions, optimising revenue service delivery, and broadening economic participation across the country.

A major highlight of the gathering is a panel discussion titled “Driving Digital Transformation Through Public-Private Partnerships.”

The panel brings together industry experts including the Managing Director/CEO of Zikora Microfinance Bank Limited, Dr. Kalu Nnachi; Managing Director of Premise2Cloud ICT Solutions Limited, Celestine Obiosa Uzor; Technology and Process Automation lead at Abia State Internal Revenue Service, Emmanuel Alozie; alongside Tyoyila Aga. Moderated by Interswitch’s Lead for Partner & Client Management, Faith Ukpai, the session will address critical operational building blocks including interoperability, cybersecurity, data protection, and system resilience.
