In Saudi Arabia, a pilgrim tried to strangle his sick father inside the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, claiming that if he died there he would go straight to heaven.

This reflects a deeply troubling mindset.

When religion becomes a justification for harming one’s own parent, that is no longer devotion - it is a complete moral failure. The man in Medina did not act out of hatred, but out of a disturbing and misguided belief that killing his father in a “holy place” would guarantee him paradise.

This is a dangerous distortion of faith. In 2026, we cannot keep ignoring the reality that certain extreme interpretations place a supposed afterlife reward above the sanctity of human life. If someone is willing to take the life of the very person who gave them life in the name of religion, then something has gone fundamentally wrong.

Faith, in its true sense, should uphold compassion, mercy and the protection of life - not justify its destruction.

Only by the grace of God can this kind of brainwashing be healed. We must pray for the Jihadists.
