The 3rd Phase National Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, has extended a heartfelt goodwill message to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, on the occasion of his two years in office.
In his message, General Elaye Slaboh commended Dr. Otuaro for what he described as a remarkable revival and repositioning of the Programme. According to him, within two years of purposeful leadership, the Amnesty Programme has been redirected back to its core mandate — serving the original and genuine beneficiaries.
He noted that under Dr. Otuaro’s stewardship, significant milestones have been achieved, including:
* Hundreds of beneficiaries sent overseas on scholarship programmes.
* Thousands of students currently studying in various institutions across Nigeria under the Programme’s scholarship scheme.
* Ongoing skill acquisition and empowerment programmes for delegates.
* Leadership training initiatives aimed at building capacity among beneficiaries.
* The ongoing treatment and verification of BVN-related and account issues that have affected delegates since 2022.
General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh stated that these accomplishments clearly demonstrate that Dr. Otuaro has done well and deserves commendation. He expressed optimism that even greater achievements will be recorded in the coming years.
The National Chairman used the opportunity to call on all original and genuine beneficiaries of the Programme to rally behind Dr. Otuaro, urging them to offer constructive support rather than resorting to public criticisms or petitions. He emphasized that unity and encouragement are necessary to enable the Administrator to fully actualize his vision for the Programme.
Furthermore, General Slaboh encouraged Dr. Otuaro not to be distracted by what he described as unfounded allegations, but to remain focused on his mandate.
He assured him that the leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and other critical stakeholders remain solidly behind him and are ready to work hand in hand to ensure the continued success and transformation of the Programme.
