A former Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State, Hon. Osaro Obazee, has announced his intention to run for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent Oredo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, vowing to deliver effective and quality representation.

Obazee made this declaration on Thursday at a ceremony held at the APC Local Government Secretariat, which was attended by prominent political leaders from the 12 wards that make up the constituency, in a show of support for his aspiration.

The aspirant emphasized that it was time for the party to reward loyal members who had remained committed during difficult periods in its history, citing his own dedication to the party as a prime example.

Several party leaders who addressed the gathering praised Obazee as a steadfast member who stood by the APC during challenging times, and expressed their support for his aspiration as a way of recognizing his loyalty and contributions to the party's growth.

Obazee stated that his years of dedication to the party and his record of service as council chairman had prepared him to effectively represent the people at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, and that he was now ready to take on this new challenge.

He argued that loyal party members, like himself, deserved to be rewarded for their hard work and dedication, saying "The labourer deserves his wages, we have laboured in the vineyard of the APC and we deserve the reward."

Obazee noted that party members had endured years in opposition in the state before eventually gaining power through the collective efforts of committed members, a period that lasted for eight years.

He assured constituents that he would remain accessible to the people if elected, stressing that public service should remain people-centred, and that he would not distance himself from the people after joining hands with others to achieve the party's successes.

Obazee commended Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo for the visible developmental strides across the state, expressing confidence that the governor's performance would strengthen the party's chances in future elections.

He attributed his decision to run for office to the governor's impressive performance, saying that if the governor had not delivered on his promises, he would not have had the courage to present himself for election.

Obazee maintained that his political ambition was driven by a desire to serve the people and address their needs, rather than personal desperation, saying "I am not in politics out of desperation, I am in politics to ensure that the needs of my people are met."

He reiterated that his mission was to ensure that his people were truly represented, and that he was committed to making this vision a reality.
