Nigeria's food security challenges and agricultural hurdles will be tackled by a gathering of key players, including policymakers, agribusiness leaders, development partners, and stakeholders, at the 2026 Vanguard Economic Discourse, which aims to explore practical solutions for sector recovery, resilience, and sustainable growth.
The event will feature the Vanguard Economic Summit on Agriculture and Food Security, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
The summit will be held at the Civic Centre, located on Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and will centre around the theme of Food Security and Socio-economic Stability: Options for Nigeria’s Agriculture Sector Rebound.
Registration for the event is open to various stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.
Other participating organisations include the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG), and international bodies such as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
In addition to these entities, banks, financial institutions, and other organisations focused on agriculture will also be in attendance.
