2027: Katsina Chapter of APC Confirms Radda as Gubernatorial Flagbearer

Governor Dikko Radda has been endorsed as the consensus governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress in Katsina State for the 2027 general elections, marking a significant milestone for the party.

The affirmation exercise, which took place on Thursday in Katsina, was overseen by officials from the party's national headquarters, ensuring a transparent and fair process.

According to Dr Yakubu Maccido, the chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Governorship Consensus Exercise, a total of 160 delegates unanimously affirmed Radda as the party's candidate through a voice vote, as stipulated in the Electoral Act and APC guidelines.

Following the affirmation, Maccido declared Radda as the APC consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Katsina State, paving the way for the party's campaign.

The committee chairman also presented declaration of result forms for other elective positions to party leaders, further solidifying the party's slate for the upcoming elections.

APC National Vice Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Datti Garba, commended party members for conducting the consensus process in a peaceful and orderly manner, reflecting the party's commitment to unity and cooperation.

Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, noted that Katsina is among the states where the consensus option was adopted without crisis, demonstrating the party's ability to work together.

Former Katsina Governor Aminu Masari urged party members and aspirants to support Radda and work towards the unity and success of the party, emphasizing the importance of a unified front.

Masari, who also chairs the reconciliation committee, appealed to Governor Radda to carry all stakeholders along in the administration and affairs of the party, fostering a sense of inclusivity and cooperation.

The former governor described the consensus process in Katsina as successful and exemplary, particularly when compared to other states, highlighting the party's strength and resilience.

Masari called on APC stakeholders across the state to commence grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, aiming to secure the victory of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Radda, and all APC candidates.

He further encouraged residents of the state to come out en masse to vote for the APC, emphasizing Katsina's status as a stronghold of the party and a crucial bastion of support.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Radda expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to seek re-election unopposed, thanking party leaders, stakeholders, and members for their trust and confidence in him.

Radda assured party faithful that he would work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in him and ensure the success of the APC at all levels, pledging to dedicate himself to the party's campaign and victory.
